Filmmaker karan johar’s new movie is a tribute to his late father Yash Johar. He has decided to name his new production, “Dostana”, after the 1980 blockbuster of the same name made by his father Yash Johar.

Om Shanti Om is a forthcoming Hindi film to be directed by Farah Khan. It stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles. The film’s score and soundtrack will be composed by the musical duo, Vishal-Shekhar with lyrics by renowned poet, Gulzar. Music sittings for the film were recently held at Chennai. Cinematography for the movie is handled by V. Manikandan whilst editing is handled by Shirish Kunder, both who have previously worked with Khan in Main Hoon Na. The film is said to be based on reincarnation. Shooting of the film will begin in January 2007 at various locations in India . The film is slated for release sometime in late 2007. According to the press (As of Sept 5th,06), the director Farah Khan wants to incorporate latin superstar Shakira in this movie to perform in one of the songs. This collaboration was born when both of them agreed to work together at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards.

Drona is a Bollywood film directed by Goldie Behl. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Kay Kay Menon. Behl earlier directed Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai (2001). Some shooting has taken place in Bikaner, India and in Prague, Czech Republic.

Shootout at Lokhandwala is a forthcoming Hindi film directed by Apoorva Lakhia. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi, Abhishek Bachchan, Arbaaz Khan, Tusshar Kapoor and Sunil Shetty in pivotal roles. The movie also stars Rohit Roy and Shabbir Ahluwalia in supporting roles. The film’s score and soundtrack will be composed by a leading Pakistani band, Strings, and top Indian bands, Indian Ocean and Euphoria, popular songwriter Biddu Appaiah and popular playback singers, Shibani Kashyap and Mika Mehndi. The film is based on Aftab Ahmad Khan’s encounter with five members of Dawood Ibrahim’s underworld gang and the true story behind these events.
